Projekt A-Ko

Projekt A-Ko is the band formed by Fergus Lawrie, Elaine Graham and Ian Graham from Urusei Yatsura.

They started in the mid 90’s becoming one of the indie rock legend of the Glaswegian scene with Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, The Delgados and more...

After 4 albums, a lot of ep’s and singles for Ché Records, world tours, 3 John Peel Sessions and Graham Kemp departure, the bandhas decided to close a chapter of its history changing their name in Projekt A-Ko, but continuing their noisy experimentations around pop melodies. Their lyrics are inspired by Japanese Manga and their sound is a perfect mix between the Britain pop and U.S. noise of bands as Pixies and Sonic Youth.

In their new dress Fergus Lawrie and Graham bros have toured all around U.K. in 2004, making atomic gigs with the new entry Steven Ward.

Working on the their debut Ep as Projekt A-Ko on Piloft, they already have issued 2 new tracks:

Our Teenagers Need Healthy Touch for Galand Records compilation: “No More Hi-Fi” and Ichiro on 3rd for hilotunez.com compilation: “Destiny (The Hi-Lo Tunez Plan: 2nd step)”. Late summer 2005 the promo New Confusion recived airplay on Steve Lamacq on UK national BBC Radio 1.
